Comments:JLTT 552. It is interesting to note MKor. toŋpăik, mod. toŋbäk 'camelia': it is regarded as Sino-Korean, but written as "winter cypress" (冬柏), a character and meaning combination unattested in Chinese. With a great probability, therefore, MKor. toŋpăik is borrowed from Jpn. (not vice versa, as suggested by Martin ibid.).
