Comments: Av. paradigm A (gen. bóc̣:u-l). In God. there occurred a secondary devoicing (*b- > p-). In Akhv. the most archaic form is Ratl. boc̣:iri; in Northern Akhvakh there occurred a metathesis *bic̣:ʷir > *ric̣:ʷib with further (regular) loss of -b; this yielded the form ruc̣:u 'sheep, sheep flock'.
