Notes: Reconstructed for the PEC level. In spite of various irregular changes (typical for an expressive root with two stops), the initial phonetic shape can be more or less securely rebuilt (semantically there are no problems). Initial velar in PTs may be explained by the influence of another root (reflected in Inkh. as ḳuč̣e 'puppy'); a possible explanation of the velar in some Andian languages see above.
