Proto-North Caucasian: *q̇_wɨswa (~-ǝ-,-e)
Meaning: wooden shovel; spoon
Notes: Reconstructed for the PEC level. There exists a similar form in WC: PAK *ħánca 'wooden shovel' (Ad. ħānc, Kab. ħanca), but phonetic problems here are significant (the word could have been influenced by another root, PAK *ħa(n)čǝ 'wooden scoop' - see under *q̇HōnŁV).
