Meaning: to break, split
Notes: Cf. also PNC *-ič̣wĔn 'to cut', which is close phonetically and semantically and is sometimes difficult to distinguish from the present root. Nevertheless, the distinction seems necessary (the two roots are opposed at least in Av.-And. and in WC), and the reconstruction seems plausible.
