Proto-Tsezian: *ʔõƛ̣V- ( ~ -ǝ̃-)
Meaning: left
Bezhta: õƛ̣a-ƛ̣as (Tlad.)
Comments: Cf. also Khosh. oƛ̣aƛ̣os. The word could be analysed as "(being) on the bottom", but this is certainly a folk etymology. This is obviously a genetic parallel for Tind. anƛ:i-ƛ:a-s:a 'left', with secondary assimilation -ƛ- > -ƛ̣- before the following (locative) -ƛ̣-.
