Comment: Cf. also Ag. Bursh. ḳam 'sour cream'. The Tab. form reflects a *-j-suffix (*ḳamVj). -u- in Ag. (Rich.) probably reflects the old oblique base vocalism in the paradigm *ḳam(a), *ḳomV- (cf. Ag. ḳuma-), later transferred to the direct base.
