Comment: In Lezg. a secondary dissimilatory vowel shift (*ʔirɨ- > *ʔerɨ-, cf. Khl. eri); in Tab., on the other hand, assimilation due to labialisation (cf. Tab. Düb. iri 'red'). In Kryz. and Bud. the word for 'blood' is derived from this adjectival base.
