\data\drav\dravet
Proto-Dravidian : *ubb- (? *urb-)
Meaning : to swell, bloat, boil
Proto-South Dravidian: *u[r]b-
Proto-Telugu : *ub[b]-
Proto-Gondi-Kui : *ub- (*-rb-)
Proto-North Dravidian : *ub-
Notes : Burrow & Emeneau join this with *ur- "to boil, swell", and there is indeed a form urbu in Kannada; however, secondary dissimilation is not excluded (or a contamination with *ur-). No other languages show any sign of an inlaut resonant.
