Meaning : grain, millet
Notes : In Gondi *kohl- < *kot_l- < *kor_ḷ (originally a plural form; the development shows that the retroflex -ḷ- had a voiceless articulation in Gondi). The PK (actually only Kui) form is doubtful. Since the original *-r_- is usually never known to disappear in Kui, the only thing that can be suggested is an old dissimilation *kud_-eri > *kuR-eri > *ku-eri. Elseway the comparison should be rejected.
