Proto-Eskimo: *quʁaj(ǝ)qi-
Meaning: to slide, to slip
Russian meaning: скользить
Proto-Yupik: *quʁajqiRa(ʁ)- (-naʁ-), *quʁajqiRtǝ-
Proto-Inupik: *quajaqit-, *quajiK-
Comments: Some irregularities are observed in the anlaut position (see Proto-Yupik) and in the inlaut cluster development. It is possible that a protoform like *(q)ʷajqi- should rather be reconstracted. Possibly borrowed from PKCh *ŋo-ɫqъ- 'river ice, slippery' > PKam *ŋoɫKe- 'slippery' with a later development *ŋo- > *(q)ʷa-; the semantics is typical for PKam, not PCh.
