Proto-Eskimo: *kica-
Meaning: stone, anchor
Russian meaning: камень, якорь
Proto-Yupik: *kica- (-unt)
Proto-Inupik: *kica-
Comments: This word is hardly derived from *kitǝ- 'to sink', because of the neutral meaning 'stone'. The development from 'stone' to 'special stone - anchor' is quite possible, but from 'sink' to 'stone' is very problematic. However, the semantic development 'stone' > 'anchor' has indeed been made possible due to contamination with the homophonous PE root *kitǝ- 'to sink'.
