\data\esq\esqet
Proto-Eskimo: *quɣǝ-lŋi-
Meaning: sorrel, sourdock
Russian meaning: щавель
Proto-Yupik: *quɣǝ-lŋi-
Proto-Inupik: *quŋu-li-
Comments: This stem has a metathesis in Proto-Inupik as well as untrivial suffixation. In Yupik it contaminates with *quɣǝ- 'sour', but overall it is probably a borrowing from PCh *ǝkʁu/kuwǝ-lŋǝn 'ordinary leaf'. Cf. also *ququŋa- 'leaf' from the same source.
