Not distinguished from HBL, HMBL 'to destroy' [ibid.] (< *h_bl)
Note that the first meaning of the verb is quoted as 'être plein, être rempli' [ibid.]. Cf. ḥml 'être grosse, enceinte' [BK 1 494] very likely derived from ḥml 'to carry, to bear', but possibly under the influence of the present root (cf. [Maizel 151])
Note GEZ ḥab(a)la 'to be dissolute, lustful' [LGz 223]; derived by Leslau from ḥab(a)la 'to act craftily, tell a lie, plot' (< SEM *h_bl).
Quite likely connected with *ḥa(n)bal- 'umblical cord, foetus', No. . Cf. *hbl (may it be a variant root with ḥ/h and a meaning shift ?): ARB mahbil- 'orifice de l'utérus, ou l'utérus lui-même où repose le foetus' [BK 2 1383]; MHR hǝbūl '(bull) to mount (a cow); (young man's sl.) to have a woman' [JM 151], JIB hɔ̄l '(bull) to mount (a cow)' [JJ 94]; note that GEZ hababāli 'dissolu, lascive, adultère' compared with this root in [DRS 359] is likely a wrong transcription of the form ḥababāli (cf. [LGz 223]).
