Comments and references : The separation of PEC *ǯa[r]-q̇V is a tentative hypothesis: possibly *ǯa[r]-q̇V represents an old compound, now truncated, such as *ǯarV-q̇ōmkā ‘young pig’ (see PEC *q̇ōmkā ‘calf’, Dargi q̇aqa, etc.). Etymological comparison suggested by John Bengtson.
