Proto-Sino-Tibetan: *ćɨ̄H
Meaning: govern, rule, lord
Tibetan: rʒ́e, ʒ́o lord, master.
Burmese: ćǝwh to govern, direct; ćawh king, queen, royalty.
Kachin: (H) ǯau to rule.
Comments: Luce 24, 28. Cf. Austric: PAA *caw 'owner, lord', ?PAN *qasawa 'spouse, husband, wife', Tai *cʔao 'owner' (see Peiros 1998, 226). [Mentioned should be also: OC 騶 *ćru 'groom'; Tib. gco-bo 'chief' - suggesting that there is more than one root here.]
