Meaning: hooked, bent
Chinese: *g_ūjʔ sick, deformed (e. g. tree), hunch-backed.
Tibetan: dgje to bend, to be curving or crooked.
Burmese: kwijʔ to bend round, be courved; kwijh to bend, curve, draw together at the ends.
Kachin: mǝkhai1 to hook, (H) khai be hooked.
Lushai: kuai (koiʔ) bend or draw (as a bow); to hook, koi (koiʔ) be crooked, bent; KC *-koi.
Comments: BG: Dimasa sugui bend, gugui bent. Sh. 47, 427; Ben. 67. Tib. dgje can be alternatively compared with OCh. 委 *ʔwajʔ bend, Jnp. (H) siŋ-gji to bend, yielding a reconstruction *ɣʷăjH.
