Proto-Sino-Tibetan: *tjɨ̆ŋ(H)

Meaning: lift, raise

Chinese: 拯 *tǝŋʔ to lift up, 上 *daŋʔ rise, raise, *daŋs up, above, on, over, 尚 *daŋ upwards.

Tibetan: bźeŋ (resp.) to raise, erect, set up (cf. also daŋ 'first'?)

Burmese: thauŋ to lift up, place upright.

Lushai: toŋ to reach up to (as anything on the ground reaching up to anything raised above it).

Lepcha: thaŋ above
