Proto-Sino-Tibetan: *tur (/tul)
Meaning: sharp wooden stick
Tibetan: thur spoon, chopsticks; a pole.
Burmese: tu chopsticks.
Lushai: tūl a skewer, a k. of two-pronged fork.
Comments: Variation *-r / *-l could point to two different roots, which, however, are rather hard to distinguish.
