Proto-Yenisseian: *kǝt- (~g-,-c-,-č-)
Meaning: tussock
Ket: kʌt-peś5, pl. kʌt-peśn5
Comments: ССЕ 238. Cf. a similarly structured Yug fʌrɨŋ5 fɨ:hš́ "tussock" (where the second part probably reflects PY *pɨ̄-s- 'bent, crooked, bend'). Selk. kotpas "hill' (see Хелимский КС 241), therefore, is most probably < Ket. See Werner 1, 470 (with many doubts, but no different solution).
