Дополнительные формы:Also Kui pūnanju a new man, man but recently arrived; fem. pūnari
Номер по DED:4275
Пракуи-куви:*pū-a
Значение:spark; embers
Куи:pūvala "spark (of fire)"
Кхуттия куи:pua "embers"
Куви (Фитцджеральд):puiya "spark"
Парджа куви:pūya "embers"
Куви (Израэль):puyã "burning coal"
Дополнительные формы:Also Kuwi_Isr puva spark
Комментарии:One more vocalic auslaut here, this time accompanied by the suffix *-a-. The gap was filled in most dialects, either by -v- (in Kui, cf. similar treatment of verbal roots with vocalic auslaut) or by -y- (in Kuwi). The form puva in Kuwi_Isr must be borrowed from Kui, especially since the usual semantics in Kuwi is 'embers', not 'spark'.
Дополнительные формы:Also Kui pūpa (pūt-) to blossom, bloom; pūki, pūki viha bee; pūki nīju, pūki nīru honey; Kuwi_Su pūki viha bee; pūki nīyu honey; Kuwi_Isr pūki a type of bee-hive; pūki nīyũ honey
Комментарии:The root here is actually *pū- (reflected in Kui pūpa), while -y- is an historical suffix, as well as -ki in *pū-ki 'bee'; however, all three forms go back to PDR.
Дополнительные формы:Also Kui pūnḍa (pūnḍi-) to meet; n. act of meeting; Kuwi_F pondū yoke for cattle
Комментарии:'To yoke oxen' = 'to make oxen to meet' or something like that. The vowel -o- in Kuwi_F is not quite clear, and so is Kuwi_S pūn-, which probably is not related.
Дополнительные формы:Also Kuwi_Isr pendili ā- to attain puberty; Kuwi_Su pelli māŋga bride (māŋga daughter); pelli mir'esi bridegroom (mir'esi son); pelli ā- to be married (all loanwords from Telugu)
Комментарии:The form pelli is certainly borrowed from Telugu. It is possible that others are as well, so the root may be all borrowed.

Куви (Фитцджеральд):peteka, pateka "until, as far as, up to"
Куви (Шульце):pateka, peteka "as long as; far"

Сункараметта куви:rāc- "to wash (clothes)"
Текрийя куви:rāk- "to rub"

Дополнительные формы:Also Kui rāpka (< rāk-p-; rākt-) to cause to rub together, wear by friction; rēsa (rēsi-) to rub, chafe; n. act of rubbing; Kuwi_S rājinai to launder
Комментарии:The final consonant (-k-, -g-, -c-) in all these forms reflects older causative / transitive / intransitive suffixes; more complicated is the question of vocalic differences between rā-g-a and rē-s-a, etc. - these indicate that we may actually be dealing with two different roots here.
