Comments:ССЕ 186. Werner 1, 240 *edǝŋ. A reconstruction of *-ǯ- (or *-ʒ-) is preferable because the root is probably the same as in the compound *qeʔs-*ʔeʔǯVŋ (see *qeʔs).
Comments:In ССЕ 272 I have reconstructed *set 'to let, drive' on the basis of Donner's Ket form and the Kottish verb. Werner's additional Yug data (dika:hjɛt́ 'ich jage ihn', pret. di-kɔ:hr-ɛt́ etc.) shows that s- is definitely a prefix and allows us to change the reconstruction to *ʔec- (on the correspondences see КС 150-151) and thus add another case of the rare PY phoneme *-c-. See Werner 1, 89, 400 (not connecting the Ket-Yug and Kott. forms and giving no reconstruction); in 1, 398 Werner adds an enigmatic phrase: "PJ (S) *set 'freilassen' hat mit den angeführten jug. Formen nichts zu tun, vgl. kot. (C) šičêt 'Loslassen'" (?).
Comments:ССЕ 187. Werner 1, 272 *ej, pl. <*eʔǝjǝ>. Werner prefers to compare the Kottish form with Yug. ɨʔj 'shout' (2, 433), which is not excluded, but dubious phonetically (the vocalic correspondence is quite irregular).
Proto-Yenisseian:*ʔej-ča
Meaning:not to touch
Ket:ɛj...ta
Yug:ɛj...ča
Comments:Werner 1, 227-228 (w.r.).
Proto-Yenisseian:*ʔel- (~x-,-r-)
Meaning:spider
Ket:ɛlɨ:m3, pl. ɛlɨmɨn5 / ɛllɨmɨn5
Yug:ɛl(l)ɨm5,6, pl. ɛlɨmɨŋ5
Comments:ССЕ 187. Werner 1, 232 *ellǝm (supposing a compound *el-(C)ǝm, but not specifying the nature of the second component).
Proto-Yenisseian:*ʔem ( ~ x-)
Meaning:even
Ket:ēm
Yug:ēm
Comments:Werner 1, 272 (w.r.).
Proto-Yenisseian:*ʔem- (~x-)
Meaning:cone (of a coniferous tree)
Ket:ɛmiĺtǝ5, pl. ɛmiĺtǝŋ5; ɛmdɔ́ ( < ɛm-dɔ:3), Kur. also imtet5 "to collect cones"
Yug:ɛmči5, pl. ɛmčaŋɨn5 [Werner 1, 362 also gives a variant imči]
Comments:ССЕ 187. Possibly connected with *ʔim "nut" q.v. Werner's remark "diese Rekonstruktion ist kaum annehmbar, denn es handelt sich um *im "Nüsse" in Komposita" lets the reader know that he is much more certain of this connection than I am; phonetically the reconstruction *ʔem-, however, still holds.
Comments:ССЕ 189. Modern Ket has also iń-tij (КРС, Werner 1, 369) 'to scratch' - a transparent formation from iń 'finger-nail' (see *ʔīń-). One cannot exclude that in this case *ʔeŋ- is a contraction from *ʔīń-ŋ- (*ʔēń-ŋ-) - an old plural of *ʔīń-. Werner 1, 373.
Comments:Werner 1, 237-238 (without reconstruction). In 1, 78 Werner admits a possibility of relating Ket ɛqtij to Kott. atpi 'hear' (see *tVPV) which would then be a tripartite formation < *ʔeq-tV-wVǯ (where -tV is also a root meaning 'hear', see *tV).
