Comments:ТМС 1, 145. The reflexes match almost exactly those of *miańam 'heart', which makes us reconstruct *giańam with a later assimilative development > *giawan. Cf. perhaps also Jurch. gen-gien 'light, clear' = Man. geŋǵen, SMan. giŋiN id. (a contamination with PTM *geŋg- 'clean, clear'? - or the same root?), see ТМС 1, 177.
